The Rich and The Poor

The Rich gets Richer and the Poor gets Poorer!
Popular words spoken for centuries.
These words were ripped from the pages of the Bible and the mouth of Jesus, himself.
I have struggled with the meaning of them for years, thinking that some people are born to be poor and while others are born to be rich, but in light of the economic crisis in America and consequently around the world, I have a new perspective regarding the jarring statement.
The Rich get Richer and the Poor get Poorer because of the GREEDY! They get GREEDIER!

The Poor you will always have with you. Also words from the mouth of Jesus. As a student of theology, I have had to grapple with the abstractness of these words, but now I understand them in a more concrete way. I understand them to mean: As long as you have the GREEDY with you, you will also have the POOR with you.
Greed is the impetus for Poverty!

Moreover, the poor gets poor because generally they stay in their place (many systems are set up to keep them there)-that vicious circle of poverty and death and loss and grief. The circle breeds nothing but poverty and more poverty and after a while, the little you have will be taken away from you, which equals a sort of metaphorical death, if not the actual thing.

The rich get richer because they generally stay in their place-that cycle of life and opportunity. This circle breeds riches. Therefore, they, the rich get richer and richer and richer. Sadly, this is sometimes related to or becomes GREED!

My Shoes Ain't Yo' Shoes

Angles Wings

The Angles Wings is
Wite as Snow
White as Snow
I drug my wings all through the fire
I drug my wings through the muck and mire
But the Angles Wings is
White as Snow
White as Snow

A poem by Langston Hughes

Are your wings like those of the Angles-White as Snow? If they are, this is an indication that you have had a peachy life; It is easy to make judgements regarding someone else when you have not been through anything trumtic or at least you have not been through the thing for which you are passing judgments on someone else. Just remember if you judge without mercy, you, too, will be judged without mercy! Think about it!
